《此刻，永生》

Design Description

My design work IN THE MOMENT is inspired from a prediction——with the rapid development of science, people may live immortal in the future. But if it becomes a reality, it will certainly cause many social contradictions and problems. For example, the rich and the people with higher social status may choose immortality to preserve their status, so that the young group rarely or can not play their social value；and the population problem will be very serious, etc.

So my guess is that in the future, there will be a group of people who will appose immortality. “We prefer a short but meaningful life to immortality!” They may say. To live “in the moment” should be the most important thing for people.

IN THE MOMENT is a pocket-hourglass, as a piece of jewellery which can be with the wearer all the time, it can also be a tool for measuring time. We can not know exactly how much time it will be left through this non-transparent hourglass, in this way, time would be valued more. The idea is to always remind the wearer to live in the moment and to make full use of lifetime.

Time is precious, do not let it flee away.

首饰作品《此刻，永生》的灵感源于我对未来的猜想，即随着科技快速的发展，人类在未来可能不会死亡，也就是永生。但如果这成为现实，也一定会出现一系列的社会矛盾和问题，例如社会中的富人以及拥有较高社会地位的人可能会优先选择永生以保全自己的地位，进而使得年轻的群体很少或无法发挥自己的社会价值。以及未来的人口问题将会十分严峻等。

所以我猜想在未来会有反对永生的人群出现：“我们宁愿要短暂而有意义的一生！”他们高喊道。比起永远地活着，活在当下，让每个“此刻”不被浪费才是更重要的。

首饰作品《此刻，永生》的主体是一个不透明沙漏，我选择了老式怀表的佩戴方式来体现其中的仪式感，作为一件首饰，他同时也是一个测量时间的工具，正因为我们看不到里面流逝的时间，时间才显得更加珍重。当它被佩戴时也在时时刻刻提醒着佩戴者：活在当下。

时间是宝贵的，不要让它白白流逝。
